What to Expect

The ETA system does not aim at any single expected outcome. Because ETA can be carried out in many different places for many different purposes, the expected outcomes will likewise vary from case to case. It is therefore not possible to list every expected outcome.

For example, suppose a town center in a certain city used the ETA system to provide language education to immigrants. In that case, the following outcomes might be expected.

The method is simple. Recruiting participants wanting to learn a foreign language, Language education through discussion and the theatrical show.

Through the process,

Personally:

Language skills can be improved, leading to better job opportunities.
Each individual’s character can evolve positively through colaborate effort.
Through collaborative work, it can become a form of positive, active social education in its own right.

For the town center:

The center can become the heart of the town.
The center can generate revenue through the shows.
The center’s methods can spread, strengthening its position.
The center’s presence and influence can increase.

For the town:

It can produce many people who support the town.
It can effectively implement education and re-education for the entire town.
Educational institutions like graduate schools can be established to train ETA experts.
It can resolve conflicts among town members.
Seniors’ know-how can be passed on to the new generation.
It can unite the entire town under a common purpose.
It can improve the quality of life for town members.
It can increase town members’ satisfaction with their town.
It can realize direct democracy for town members.

What we have looked at above is simply the expected outcome under one assumption, for one particular organization.

If the ETA system is carried out by a variety of different institutions for a variety of different purposes, it may achieve expected outcomes far greater than we can currently imagine.
